After years of fields without form, form returns, no longer imposed on the surface. Worked mass and flat colour act on each other directly. In Concurrent, a grid of black rectangles crosses the gesture without resolving it. In Tolerances and Open State (ongoing series), flat colour sets how far the mass may go, tightening it in places and letting it breathe in others; Open State keeps its whole making inside the mass, from bare canvas to thick relief.
The mass is painted first and already has its form; flat colour comes last and adjusts it. The sequence follows how much the flat colour takes, from a margin around the mass to a stepped edge that claims most of the surface.
