Form is set aside. In Towards Radical, on paper, the field loses its last edge, while the canvases of the same year still build bodies. After a break in 2022, the field returns at scale in Distances, from darkness through saturated colour to light; in Introspection, light enters from the edge and ends as bare canvas. In Standby, flat colour stays, with nothing left to cut: it only stops the field along a straight edge.
Oil pressed into unprimed paper with a palette knife and smoothed flat. Across the sequence, the field loses its last edge, and a single source of light spreads until the whole sheet is light. The field returns on canvas, at scale, in Distances.
